Room 14's beautiful art

Room 14 has some very talented people who are very good at art. In our class we have got some very wicked pictures of around our town (Hawera). They have got the Kereru, cows from Fonterra, Mt Taranaki (Egmont) and the Water tower. In Room 14 we have portraits of our class which we did at the start of the year. We have also got an under water world wall with sea creatures all over it. Room 14 has definatly got some very talented artists. If you live around South Taranaki you should come in Room 14 and have a look!

Room 14's Class Item

On Friday the 21st of August Room 14 performed their class item. For our item we did a dance to "Boom Shake The Room,"also Ashleigh Bennett said her speech about "What teachers do when they are not teaching." It was a great speech what made all the teachers laugh. Phoebe Macleod introduced us to the croud and talked about the disco and fresh food Friday. Then we danced our hearts out to " boom shake the room" everyone enjoyed it I hope!

Fresh Food Friday

This week is Room 14's Fresh Food Friday. We have to try and raise money by selling fresh food to all the students and teachers at school. Room 14 will be offering four things. Fairy bread, cheerios and sauce, ambrosia and a cup of juice. All of that for only five dollars that's amazing. All of the classes are competing every week to try and raise the most profit and the winning class gets the principal to cook lunch for them.

Gym

Today we had gymnastics. It was lots of fun. We learned how to work in a team. We learnt how important it is to keep our legs straight on the bar.

We also learned that when you do a forward roll the top of your head does not touch the ground.

Today Room 14 participates in 2009 NZ Maths Challenge. Nearly 700 schools have registered and from 9:00am this morning we will be competing against other children from around the world. We will be giving regular updates on how we are going.

Bhana Cup

Yesterday we competed in the Bhana Cup. This is a day filled with sports. We competed in Hockey, Soccer, Rugball and Netball. We all tried our very best and were pleased with the results we ended up with. Take a look at the photos especially our new netball uniform - very smart!

Class of 2009

This year we have a combined Year 5 and 6 class. 10 Year 5's and 18 Year 6's.
